If the price includes, transfers from ferry, accommodation/food and all boat trips to breaks, i guess the price is fair, especially compared to other places.
But you should know that it is located next to about half a dozen places you can stay cheap (about $10-$15 US a night) but you must bring your food/water and pay for any boat trips on top of that and to get there and back from where ferry arrives/departs.
That said Beng beng surf camp has the nicest/biggest building in that area with best set up.
Just for interest sake, years back they ran as "Mentawai island lodge" then ran as a budget place, its called beng beng surf camp, but is actually located at E-bay about half hour walk from beng bengs.

In actually in a similar situation with a friend right now trying to put together a last minute trip... Did u find any useful info on good places to stay for cheap on the mentawais? Also, could someone fill me in on what the 10-15 $ a night places are out there? Thanks for the help
