winter months are best, needs more swell to get into inside ekas, outside can be intimidating.i found surfing in lombok a bit of a hassle. always had to get a car or a boat, couldnt just walk from accomodation.shouldnt be a problem with a longboard, just use extra packing. it might not fit in the bus to the ferry at padang bai, you might need to hire a car. lovely people in lombok.

Saw a good bumper sticker the other day
"Life's too short for a Longboard !"
In other words learn to surf a short board ! No hard feelings intended.
Would be hassle with a long board in Lombok. Better off going somewhere where waves are close to your accomodation

Insides is fine for a longboard took one myself last Jan Fun on the smaller days and makes the long paddles a breeze Shorter board better for Outsides for sure. Main problem would be planes from Bali to Lombok are very small and only some airlines will take them I have travelled for many years with 9'+ but this year have changed to mid 6' to low 7' far more flexible

What's Inside Ekas like in March? Thinking of staying at Heaven On the Planet and bring either my 6'2 fish or 6'10 single. Any tips would be welcome. Thanks
