solo surfergirl travelling Bali Aug 07 - best breaks?

Does Seminyak & Jimbarin Bay break consistently? (I'm intermediate?)
Also, does anyone know how much to hire a board?  Or best to bring my own? Will be in Bali Aug 07.

Thanks, Polly

Should be brilliant that time of the year. The Bukit should be macking. Hiring a board isn't a problem, but if you're not traveling anywhere else on your trip I'd suggest packing your own. I don't recall the cost, but everything down there is negotiable. Good luck.

Kuta Reef, Middle Reefs, Airports all should be cool about that time, even give the beachies a go in the arvo as a good way to cool off. When it starts getting a bit serious in size, as intermediate grab a driver and head for Dreamlands, easy wave that holds real size, hint ..... don't kick out, take the beach close out on high tide, friggin great fun!!

Hola Polly,
Answering your question, Jimbaran Bay has not waves. Seminyak is a beach break but would be windy from 10 am.
If you are intrmediate try from north to south: Canggu, Legian, Kuta Reef, Dreamland and if it is not big Uluwatu. Also Nussa Dua and Sanur in the other side.
Bring your own board, because boards for hire are not good.
Good luck and beware of Kuta Cowboys!

There's nothing in Jimbarin Bay.

Dreamland is a beachie, but don't under-estimate it... it can get heavy too.

Try Canguu...it's pretty mellow and fun for a begginer. Just super crowded.

Bingin is a great wave. Prolly one of my favs in that area. Don't list to ppl who say it's hardcore. It's Indo's most makable barrel.
