Agree with Hey. Just accept all uncertainties and just go!!! Prepare to not be able to surf!! Prepare to loose, become bankrupt or whatever, just take the steps you want to take in live. Embrace the certainty of uncertainty as that is all there is eventually.
Take a leap and crash, it's wonderfull.

One hint, unless you have time to wait for correct decent sized west swell with favourable winds (rare) forget it, the further south/east you go the less consitent it gets as it has a very small swell window..time and pstience are the key words.

hey,,the road between banda aceh to meulaboh have way very bad, just 6 hour drive from banda, not much acomodation along the coast,, many waves to explore around there,, if you want to have consisten waves should try surf at Lhonkga,,good waves and wind from dec to april,, and you can stay at at Darlian Homestay.nice place, friendly family and very welcome to the surfer..

Better to go the better breaks in Nias.  Was very disappointed with the inconsistency in Aceh.

The place is a hoax & waiting 4 waves [ which were lackluster] combined with poor quality food .... well you get the picture!
