Can you go out there on a fishing boat with a local from Nias?

RE: telos islands

The Telos is a hard one, Its super remote noone speaks english and surf spots are very fickle and spread out, its not the next Mentawais, many only work on certain tides and swells and many need big swells from the right direction.

The camp there has it wired because they have a fast good boat and lots of local knowledge, there are no other camps and even if you get there you will have to speak good Bahasa Indonesia, to just comunicate get food and organize a boat, then theres the Police who are known as the worst in the offshore Sumatra Islands area for causing trouble.

RE: telos islands

If you were to takle it over land two things you need lots of time atleast two weeks and you really need to speak Bahasa Indonesia or getting around will be imposible.

If your serious I would recommend chartering a fishing boat from Nias, you will save yourself a lot of grief and time and even money.

Yes I am talking from experience.

Good luck
