things to buy/great prices in Bali« on: August 24 2007 06:08:00 »
From those that have been to Bali (Kuta/Ubud areas and others). What are good things to buy that are great prices, to either stock up on personally or to bring back home and sell (to make some $$ to go surfing again)? Clothes/jewellery etc etc.

usally i bring back as much as i can ,mostly hand carved drums, stuffed with thai pants and jewery, sarongs, paintings,
bone earrings are popular in the states, one time right after an indo trip i walked in top a little shop ansd found all the stuff from bali marked up 300%
alot of the quality is questionable and it helps to learn the language a bit and shop where they make all the stuff and buy in bulk
ive never sold anything before but they make great gifts

there are a lot of cheap cool stuffs in Bali.
But i reccomend you buy the Batik. Batik is the traditional painted cloth. You can find several Batik clothing styles, from formal, casual, to the funky ones. Prices also range from thousand rupiahs up to million rupiahs. Printed batiks is a lot cheaper than hand painted batiks. If u want to sell it again with some margin, u should buy the casual batik t-shirts and sell it to youth guys.
U can find many batik brands and stores, and every one of them has a particular style of batik. U can find good stores in kuta/legian and ubud.
