Well there are some Americans living in Indonesia, i have lived in Bali for over three years now, visas suck get an agent, rooms are cheap but rent for a year/month not a night find something out of the nightlife area, ie best bet medewi, dirt cheap, be prepared to squat to shit, and have a nasty belly ache for the first month, take ferries to travel, rent a motor bike, stay low key, leave the girls be unless your serious, if your serious about living not hanging and surfing, get trained in any skill that is marketable to tourist ie massage, diving, surf/life guard certified, or antyhing else check jobs indo there are a bunch of time share assholes that will give you a job if you dont mind lieing and ripping people off. Well thats my info hope it helped
