where to surf in indo?« on: April 17 2008 11:04:00 »
HI, so I am trying to plain a trip to indo for next year, I am an intermediate surfer, I don't plain on surfing gnarly triple over head crazy shit, just fun over head to double overhead walled up reelers. I don't really know much about the place other than there are amazing waves. Here are some questions maybe someone might have some answers too.
Where should I fly into?
What's the best route to take from the airport, to get waves, if I am planning on being there a month?
Are boat trips worth it?
What are the spots I should absolutely hit?
How much money would you spend in a day if you are on a tight budget?

What time of year are you planning on going - thats a factor. Bare in mind that there are 2 seasons with varying swells and winds.
Perhaps go in the offseason (November onwards) as you'll get less scary huge surf and less crowds.
Get out of Bali - its crowded.
Got to Sumbawa/Sumba or maybe South Sumatra.
Boat trips can be expensive.....(otherwise agreed with other comments!)
