Transportation to Cimaja or south-west Java

« on: May 11 2008 05:05:00 »

Can anybody tell me what the best way to be to get from Jakarta airport to the Cimaja area? I know there are taxis, but I'm wondering how expensive it is going to be (a 3 hour drive!) and if there are any other alternatives. Thanks!

Hi!

We've been there three years ago. I was also wondering how long it would take and if it was possible by bus, but was very lucky to meet two Portugese surfers in the plane from Holland to jakarta. They already arranged a taxi to Cimaja, and we could fit in. That cost about 400.000 rupia and took 3 or 4 hours. THey arranged this via Umbak Tujuh, a nice place to stay in Cimaja. Safed us a day traveling, so was really worth it. From Cimaja it is another 3 hours to the spot Umbak Tujuh (nothing to do with the warung), which is the best wave in the area. But Cimaja si also nice, just like sawarna. Only way to umbak tuju is by taxi (250.000).

Have a great trip!

Kind regards,

Hey Steve,
I go down there pretty much every second weekend. . It takes about 3-4 hours depending on traffic.I get a car and a driver for 550thou one way. It is a bit expensive but comfy and the driver ece is a good guy.Give my friend Mumuh a call and he can sort out the car and driver (with straps for boards) accomodation, and can show you around as well..was good waves last weekend!
You can also go by bus. you have to get a bus from jakarta to Bogor (heaps of those) and then a bus from bogor to Pelabuhan Ratu.  There's a bemo route that goes through cimaja to cisolok from pl from there.

Got any more questions mate, feel free to send me an email...

Cheers

Chris

hi guys, if you need vehicle bring you to Cimaja (Pelabuhan Ratu) or around south-west java, u can hire my car (toyota kijang/japanese SUV) and call me at +628164830866 or email me. I know many beaches at Pelabuhan Ratu not only Cimaja to surf. The Price to hire my car Rp500,000/ day. The price included gasoline and toll tax. I pick up you from Cengkareng Airport if you want.
