reputable board shop in Kuta?« on: May 13 2008 22:05:00 »
I left a board in Indonesia 2 years ago and will be headed back for a quick visit in September. Just found out the board is broke so trying to decide if I should bring board or buy one in Kuta. I've been there several times so I know the whole story on shady used boards which is why I always brought my own. Problem is I live in Maui and if the airlines don't give me a break I'll end up paying $300 to bring a board. I've been lucky with airlines in the past but have a feeling those days are over now. Anyway, does anyone have first hand experience buying a new board (6'6 custom or off rack) from a reputable shop in Kuta for around $450? I'm just an average surfer so I'm not looking to spend a huge amount, but seems crazy to pay the airlines the money when I could just leave the board there for my next trip. Any input much appreciated!!
