Lowdown on Mentawais Resorts« on: May 20 2008 06:05:00 »
I'm contemplating which Mentawais resort to book into in July. I'm an intermediate surfer with a girlfriend on a boogy board in tow. I want good accessible surf within a 5 min walking distance from the resort. I want activities other than surfing for my girlfriend at the resort so that she will not kill me with her nagging after I come back from surfing. I also want it to be bloody cheap. Resort operators need not reply.

Check out www.macaronisresort.com there prices are very competive, and they also have the option of spending time at the resort or on there charter boat.
One of the best funniest left in the world out front and other waves nearby.
Villas a full luxury spas and all, set on a lagoon great for snorkling and sea kayaking.
I could be bias thoe, as Mark the owners a friend of mine :)

I've never been to the Mentawais, from Ireland and looking to go in February for a month. Has anybody any idea if it is possible to stay somewhere cheaper than the aforementioned (and who all sound absolutely magic) resorts.
