Batukaras or CImaja??« on: May 26 2008 02:05:00 »
Im heading to West Java for a week or some next month and just wondering if anyone knows which is better for a femal beginner/intermediate surfer travelling alone out of the surf spots around Cimaja or Batukaras at Pangandaran? And how easy it is to get between the two? Thanks for your help

I`m living on Java since 3 month, I`ve never been to Cimaja so I hardly can recomment it. But I`ve been to Pandangaran and Batu Karas for a couple of times! Pangandaran is a typical beachbreak, nothing special but ok. But Batu Karas is in my opinion one of the best beginner waves all over the world. The small powerfull wave is breaking in the same direction and same quallity form one to 7 feed. And there are varouis other spots for every level in the area.
In pangandaran and in Batu Karas are Surfschools, but I do know nothing about thier quallities
So check it out

i think if you want have good wave i suggest BatuKaras at Pangandaran but its so far away from Jakarta than if you go to Cimaja...for save your expend, Cimaja more cheaper than Batukaras...

Without a doubt Batukarus is the better choice for a begginer, I agree it is as perfect as can get as far as waves for beginers go.
Cimaja..Is a far better wave qualty wise, good for intermediate surfers and up, but not so good for begginers, some nasty rocks in the shore break.

Batukaras way cooler than Cimaja for relax surfing. The wave is long and fun and easy to surf from point to the beach so perfect for hotdogging and even better for beginners because sand not reef.
Nice places to stay on the beach and not expensive. Best hotel to stay has view direct to the wave and only $10 a night for me and my girlfriend. Batukaras is a nice quiet surfing place and many other things to do around the place so i think Batukaras better choice than Cimaja.
