Surfschools/surfcourses in Bali« on: June 21 2008 00:06:00 »
We are two beginners who want to learn to Surf in Bali. We just have one week and the budget is not too high.
We hoped someone in this forum knows of a good affordable 3 days surf course not to far from airport? Maybe Kuta?
And ofcourse we need a bed to sleep in!
Thank u !

I juz finished 4 days surfing trip from Bali Kuta. Hope I cud give you some tips:
* there are too mani budget accommodation around "Poppies Lane I and II". Poppies Lane is located central of Kuta beach. Juz within walking distant from & to beach. To some extend you cud juz pull your bags and walk in to hotel that suit your budget.
* there are at least 4 surfing school along Kuta beach; but I found there are charge relatively high. I engaged 1 session from one of them and I get the instuctor to introduce me those freelance trainer along beach the next day & they're equally good and most important they are cheaper by 50%. Surfing school charge around Rp300k to Rp350k per hour. You could easily spot them along beach.

Bali is not a very good place to learn to surf...heavy reef and crowds make it a difficult spot for beginners...
