planning the same thing myself mate.... have been hearing a lot of mixed stuff, sounds like massive downpours almost every afternoon are on the cards but other than that you can still get some great days out there. supposedly bali still has plenty of decent waves for beginners and experts alike this time of year...

Their is a great little Bed and Breakfast in Canggu, Bali called www.balibnb.com great people and really nice accommodation.

Isn't too bad at that time actually. If you head to Java then it will be a massive downpour especially in places like Jakarta or other places that catch weather via mountaintops. Bali's weather will be decent and if you are going to be in the water anyways... I'll be headed there from my place in Jakarta, to spend the month of December in the water.
