A Tiawanese fishing vessel is currently on the reef at Padang spewing out oil, fuel & dangerous debrit (nets, fishing line, hooks etc) the capt & 12 indo crew are missing, presumed murdered or mutiny, it was known to be fishing illegaly in the area..  the poor balinese will now have to deal with this crap, what will become of padang if the ship breaks up, which it inevitably will.. who is accountable for this f**k up... someone should be swinging from the yard arm..

F*****G Taiwanese, that is sooo F*****D up, i was planning a trip this december to all my favourite haunts, padang being very high on the list, i will still go but i guess padang is now off the list, what about the rest of the coastline, ulu's will surely get some of the pollution..
for sure the balinese will have to unfortunatley deal with a polluted coast line, all surf communities should pitch in together & help with the cleanup.

Hopes that the abandoned fishing trawler that was shipwrecked on the reef of Bali’s Padang Padang last Friday would be moved before the arrival of a solid incoming swell are quickly fading. A small group of local fishing boats failed on Thursday to pull the Taiwanese fishing boat off the Padang-Padang reef ahead of the expected big swell which was already showing pulses on Friday.

With the swell expected to reach 10 feet on Sunday, the fear that the ship will batter the reef and break apart could quickly become a reality. There is already a heavy amount of cable, knives, fish hooks, and all sorts of other waste that have found their way into the water at Padang Padang. None of that, however, will compare to the irreparable damage that could come from the ship being tossed around and breaking apart.

International registration is always available and sue the snot out of them in court; if not, join in the revolution against conservative governments in Indonesia!

The indo government should definitely keel haul some body over this disaster, if they don't then its obvious another backhander is going down to some official.. it would be great to say boycott indo , but in the end its the smiling friendly locals that suffer not the fat arse officials , as a surfer there are just too many waves not to go..

If you want to see a photo of this chaos go to australian surfing life web site , the boat is right in the take off zone, once this decides to break up there will be jagged  pieces of rusty steel to impale yourself on...
