Bangkahulu/Pondokkapoer?? (Near Bengkulu Sumatera)« on: October 27 2008 01:10:00 »
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has ever done any traveling/ surfing around this region? I have seen a few images that lead me to believe there may be some nice lefts in the area, but have never heard any reports of people surfing there. I know this area is pretty remote and traveling would not be easy without good language skills.

Was there August 08. There is a spot there about next to a coal loading facility, but the bottom is sand and consequently extremely variable as far as length of ride and quality goes. Don't expect a barrelling wave. The place is terribly polluted too with coal dust blowing all over the place. If you are going, take a board but check the water quality first before going out and don't go there for the the surf as many other spots have more consistent waves.
