closest spot to singapore, when you're desperate« on: January 18 2009 07:01:00 »
i just discovered they have waves in bintan, over at nirwana beach club. i shouldn't share this cos there were less then 4 surfers making do with the spot, but since i won't really have the chance to go back, i thought i could make someone's day ;-) really wish discovered it earlier :-(
great spot for beginners, with beach break, long shallow beach, fast waves (kinda like kuta in november)
waves from november-march (call to ask)
if you're looking for super nice waves, you'll probably hate it. it's a bit blown out. and one day can be nice and the next disappointing. but then if there are no waves, you can always wakeboard
no lifeguards, one 1 mini-malibu (bic 8'0") in the island so you have to wait for your turn :-P please donate your longboard!
