If you're heading to the Mentawais, avoid Air Asia

Just returned from awesome Ments trip, but the lowlight was getting PUMPED by Air Asia. They ripped us off on excess baggage and absolutely refused to back down. Each of our group was charged a different amount for our boards - there was no sign of any consistent rule. To add insult to injury, we watched them throw our boards from the cargo hold down onto the tarmac, and mine was seriously dinged before I even got to put it in the water. Their complaints service is as good as non-existent. If you're heading for the Ments, go via Singapore and one of the reputable airlines. You might pay a little more upfront, but it's worth it. This crowd will drive you insane.

I flew from singa's with tiger and had a pre paid contract in writing, no damage no hassle, unfortunately airlines aren't the only ones making up the rules as they go along.. everyones queing up for a piece of the pie.
like anywhere in aisia evrythings done with a flip of the coin, part of the territory ,but thanks for the info
