Is Bingin good in Oct and where is good to stay?« on: April 30 2009 13:04:00 »
Heading over to Bali for a second visit. Going for a month this time and thinking of heading to Bingin for a few weeks as looks like a good selection of breaks. Is there still good surf in Oct and is it extremely crowded at that time? Looking for cheap and secure place to stay, any advice? Are there places to rent a board as would prefer not to bring my own as going travelling?

should still be ok in October....Probs best to rent or buy a board in Kuta and take it with you to bingin....Suzies Warung is pretty good (50,000-70,000 a night)
Still gets pretty crowded but you've got padang & impossibles just a little south and Dreamlands just around the corner

Thanks. Will do that then for a few weeks. Booked into Chockys place initially at 80,000rp a night until I find somewhere cheaper. One of the few with a website. Is it wise to get Malaria tablets if going to Bingin?

I can also really recommend Wayan and his family down at Bingin. They have two places, 1 budget, and 1 more luxury (but still very cheap considering). They have a website www.surfbalibingin.com
I have stayed there three times over the years and keep going back :)

Susie's warung is crap, not nice people. spent all wet season surfing bingin pretty much alone last year , left my stuff in susie warung and got a drink after before going home, then as soon as the dry season started and people were comming they told me not to come if I dont spend more in the warung!

A friend of mine is heading over as well and I believe he may want to hire a board, I will pass on your e-mail and I'm sure he will be in touch nearer the time. Can anyone recommend a cheap place in Kuta? I've tried 8 hotels for just the first few nights from 24th Sept and all are fully booked which seems very unusual. Wouldn't usually book in advance but we land late, at 10.30pm, so will not be in Kuta until 11.30pm!

i,ve been 4 times in bali in september and october, and it,s totally ok, in surf conditions, but it,s sill pretty crowded. if you wanna stay in kuta, the best choice is kedin,s inn , in poppies 1.it,s not possible book in advance. but try one you,ve there....and if the man said ..no vacancy, try to give him a tip(he,s a fat man, he look,s like an unhappy man...but he,s a good guy. we always try tipping him and always work.
i.ll be there in october, as well.
