surf shops Java indonesia« on: May 07 2009 06:05:00 »
Hello I am traverling to Indonesia next week and am planning to buy a surfboard out there, I am flying into Jakarta, Java and then heading for the west coast, was wondering if any one knew where the nearest surf shop was and what type of boards they stock? I want to purchase a Rusty redline but can not find out if they distribute to indonesia or not and where would find them? Any help would be great also would the price be simular to the uk prices?, Also if any one else is heading out simular dates give me a shout, also one more question, does any one know how easy/hard it is to stay longer then the 30 day tourist visa, if you havnt applied before hand for any other?

it might be worth going on a quick trip over to bali, you can get flights for £40 return if you look about and they've got more boards available there than you can imagine at cheaper than UK prices.....Java really isn't very convenient for buying a board....Also, there will be agents in Bali who will be able to extend your visa to 60 Days for you for about £50....Saves flying out of indo and back in again....i will be out in that area next month, going to W.Java and S.Sumatra
How long you planning on being out there?

Going out initially untill the 22nd of june and then possibly staying another month or two as a couple of my friends are coming out mid june and the friend I am going with is going to oz. I might fly to bali and then travell back up to west java instead of the other way round, just didnt want to risk blowing loads of money in bali at the begining of my trip

haha, yer it can be a bit of a trap if your not careful! you've gotta go through Jakarta, singapore or KL anyway to get bali don't you?.....Picked up a flight to Jakarta for £380rtn with emirates a couple of weeks ago, so they're worth a look if you haven't checked them out yet....Let me know if your about after 20 june, that'll be when i'm getting out there....
