this place is a true pristine place where i used to go, it is very remote and only the braves were rewarded for such a hard travelling with a great wave shared with true surfers.A spanish and morrocan guy are opening a new camp there, making surfey tourist pay a huge amount of dollars for all inclusive packaging in a place that you would pay 100 times less going there by yourself, just staying the camp nextdoor... If you don't want your favorite places in indo to be spoiled with assholes just out from the plane with their noisy chicks , please boycott this place , and if you have in mind to go there, don't be stupid , just don't do it or reach this place by yourself as a real man/surfer would do.

I travelled indo a bunch of times by myself, and if I want to do it over so we should not leave those camps settle.I've been through the mentawai by land in some camps owned by locals that theyre not mentionned anywhere...Try to go to HT's and lances left by public transportation and ha ha ha !!!This kind of places if for people who deserve it, conditions are not easy, surf gets really serious in this area, coral is super sharp and waves super hollow,it's so hot and wet you think it's steam you're breathing and it's malaria is the worse on the planet...But some places have a magic feeling once you're there, that is about to be ruined by dickheads that they'll make you pay as much as for high class mentawai resort.

The furthest camp directly in front of the wave charges 100,000 rupiah a night (10 dollars) if you bring and cook your own food. If you want them to cook for you it cost's 200,000. If you show up empty handed the cost is 300,000 meals included. Have Fun Boys!

I have stayed at Asu Camp. I loved it. Sick place right in front of the wave, great food, and at $30USD a very reasonable value. I don't know who you are, but you do not speak the straight truth.

Where the fuck is this camp..!
Surf camps and resorts are popping up everywhere.. its a crying shame
last time i was in the mentawais i didn't fucking recognize it.. there were 30-40 boats charging around new resorts that didn't exist 5 years ago with their own boats.. again full of crew , agro in and out of the water, shit was getting stolen from our boat almost nightly.. over it
