I recently took a trip to Southern Sumatra and Scored. I stayed at K.N.H (Karang Nymbor Hotel) which is by far the best place in the area. The hotel is correlated with five other camps in the area including one at Way Jambu and Drews right. Rooms are cheap and each camp is literally right on the break. K.N.H. has tvs, internet, pool tables, and sits right on the wave. Every morning I woke up and checked the surf. Book through kruisurf.com. |

There are a bunch of camps on the point, all claiming to be the best etc. You just have to go and decide for yourself. It is interesting that pretty much everyone gets along rather well, except for Andy from K.N.H. During the month I spent in the area I met several camp owners, and surfers, and without exception everyone had something negative to say about Andy. I never met the guy myself so don't have my own opinion, but he really seams to have built up quite a bad rep for himself and his place in the area. Otherwise everyone there was really cool and friendly, it is definitely a beautifull and consistantly good place to visit and surf. |

Your subject says one of the last uncroweded spots in Indonesia, then in your own post you speak of 5 surf camps run by the same company...isn't that a bit of a contradition???...then theres nevs and the other places on the point + secret sumatra etc.

Sounds like a crowd to me with 5 camps there, there are still oncrowded waves to be had in Indo you need a boat and some good local knowledge is all. |
