nias swells and accomodations

« on: December 12 2009 01:12:00 »

just wondering if anyone has any info on nias (lagundri bay).  i've heard you can get waves almost all year, but was wondering more specifically how it is in april/may?  what's the crowd factor and vibe like?  is it easy to find places to stay, eat, and get a beer?  also, if anyone has any recomendations for other places to check out near/on sumatra i'd like to hear about those places too.  any info would be appreciated.  thanks.

April/may...yeah good months me thinks...swell and light winds.

crowd factor..generally crowded its a world class name spot, and many locals surf...but it now breaks even when small and any tide if not tiny.

Places to stay eat and drink= easy all on the Point.

Other places...plenty of info on the web.

If Lagundri is crowded just go to Hinako Islands (an hour and a half by boat). The camp on the point in front of the left on Asu is only 10 dollars a night if you cook your own food. There is better swell in Nias than in Bali. No matter the wind direction Asu and Bawa should have waves.
