Beginner Sufers July 2010

Hey All!

A friend and I are exellent swimmers, but have only had experience surfing once in Honolulu. We are trying to plan a trip for July that will involve some surfing. Poking around on this site and oterhs suggests that Bali might be a good place for us to check out...agreed? We're not super stoked about how busy it would be but itseems like it would have the right kind of waves for us and good prices etc.

Any info people could give would be really appreciated!

Just go to Kuta Beach, it's great for beginners, cheap hostels, cheap food, great crowd, you can surf all day and party all night. i  caught my first wave there! You can email me

RE: Beginner Sufers July 2010

Hi there,

I live in Sanur , Bali.
No worries about the crowds in Kuta, there's still plenty of waves to be gotten.
Kuta would be a good spot for you guys, but also a bit further up the coast( maybe 20min.from Kuta) in Canggu theres a couple of mellow breaks.
Especially tugu(?).A long mellow lefthander, perfect for longbaording.
