buying boards indonesia« on: March 15 2011 23:03:00 »
me and some mates are travelling thru india and are planning on hitting indonesia mid april.
we were thinking of flying to padang and heading down sumatra thru west java and then the bali regions.
only problem is all our boards are back home in aus. we are happy to buy.
anyone have any info on the availability/costs of boards around padang either new or second hand.

I have only bought boards in kuta, bali. There are many small shops in the city. We stayed for three and a half weeks and bought some mini-mals for about 250 USD and sold them back to the surfshop 60% the buying price.
No info on padang though...
Hope this helps.

once your in Java your fine for finding something, not sure how easy it'll be up in Padang...If your heading across to Nias, there will be people selling.

No boards?! You're f@@ked! Just kidding. Kuta, Bali is the place to pick up your boards (new or used). Try Papaya Surf on Poppies Gang II for starters. Otherwise, there's an American shaper who lives in Padang Padang. He can fix you up.
