Surfing trikora beach, bintan« on: April 03 2011 12:04:00 »
Have anyone tried surfing the aboved spot before? plan to try out there. I'm a singaporean, and it is only 2 hour ferry ride from here. I did some research and found this article. they said it can be surf only when north wind is present. Any suggestions?

I happen to be from Trikora Beach Club, a resort right by the beach and here's some information you may find helpful.
There are two monsoons that will hit Bintan. The North-East monsoon is the windier season starting in November and ends in March, wind speed can go up to 15-19 knots on average. The South-West Monsoon begins in June and ends in October with wind speeds at 12-16 knots on average.
If you do visit Trikora Beach, come find us at Trikora Beach Club & Resort. Besides surfing, you might also want to try out kitesurfing or windsurfing as well. I hope this helps!
