Really beautiful place but lacks the quality and consitency of Mentawai's, best spots need solid swells from correct direction, while the more consitent waves are real average.
For example in Mentawai's you could stay in one area and always find a good or fun wave within fairly short distance, but in Telo's its different waves are kind of spread out on different islands and you need to be real mobile to make the most of it, you will notice surf resorts there have good boats for exactly this reason, distance between waves and charge a top price one being fuel.
You also really need to be able to speak half decent Bahasa Indonesia, to organize place to stay with locals and to get from A to B and waves, food etc.

Just got back from the telos. It was soild 4 to 7ft and perfect. I stayed at the Telos Surf Lodge. The place is amazing. I also stayed at the Surfing Village. Perfect waves everyday. My advice is do your homework. I'm an intermediate surfer ,and the waves were just right
