quick surf trip

« on: May 08 2006 11:05:00 »

To anyone that can help,

I am flying over in June into Shannon then going to drive around and visit family in Ballina, but of coarse i am bringing my boards over for some surf.  Was hoping for some advice about must surf spots around the area for this quick 10 day trip.  thanks all

There are lots of quality surf breaks around Ballina area, depends what you're looking for. easky is around 35km east of Ballina and is a pumping reef break, there are two breaks easky left and right. A bit closer is Enniscrone which is about 20 km away, to the east of Ballina again, nice beach break with long lefts and rights, ideally longboard wave though. If you head west of ballina you won't be dissapointed, theres Belmullet which 5o km away and also Achill island has some serious beach breaks being one of the most westerly points in ireland. Check out this website and for spots. Hope you get the conditions.
