surf spots for longboarder in May

« on: October 29 2006 11:10:00 »

Hi, I'm planning a surprise trip for my husband in May.  He has been surfing (longboard) for about 50 years!  We just went to "France and he surfed Le Torche. Where would you recommend I look for some good surf and a cottage in May.  We've never been to Ireland so we would also like to be somewhat central to do some touring.  Thanks for any help! Kelly

Im just back from doing the same thing with my girlfriend.  I would recommend the North West, Strandhill near Sligo and Bundoran in Donegal are very well known surfing destinations.  You can always visit the seaweed baths if theres no surf- as we had to.
