dublin surfers looking to travel west/nw

« on: May 04 2007 17:05:00 »

been surfing since jan. of this year. so beginner. started out with a friend who has since went on a 'year out'. some of the rest of the lads have went with me now and again but they haven't taken to it. mostly head to bundoran - streedagh (sligo, i know), tullan and rosnowlagh. usually head up and back to dublin in the day but its a bit tiresome. anyone interested in going up at weekends? - head up sat morning early, surf saturday, few pints in the bridge bar on sat night, surf sunday and then head back to dublin for sunday evening? i have a car with roof bars etc. maybe a contribution to fuel??

let me know if interested.

Hi there
I'm living in Dublin and want to go to the west this weekend. I don't really mind going alone but it would be nicer offcourse to go with somebody else. If anyone feels like heading out this weekend, let me know. We'll split fuel costs. If you have a shortboard, I don't mind driving, if your board is bigger than 7" it won't fit in my car. I'm an intermediate surfer and would be nice to have somebody who is on the same level. So preferably somebody who will be in the line up and not in the white water :). I'm not an expert at all though... just trying to get down the line and doin some turns. I'm 20 y o, not a hard guy to get on with and just looking for some waves and a good time :) Let me hear as fast as possible if you're interested heading out this weekend.

well junior,

did you head out at the weekend?

sunday in bundoran was 17mph on-shore winds with rain. not nice. i gave it a miss myself - not worth a 7 or 8 hour drive for that.

Anywhere actually.. Just the nearest beach.

I've been paddling in Portmarnock, Killiney bay,... just to get my muscles fit again for the weekend...

See ya
