irish surf - september« on: July 11 2005 10:07:00 »
Hello - I'm an advanced surfer used to reef breaks and
heavy beach breaks, planning a solo surf trip to ireland in september. really hoping for some good waves.
carrying a 6'3 board and 4/3 wetsuit + a 1mm guard.
will i be able to camp at irish surf spots without
being hassled by the authorities?
also, can i expect local irish surfers to be
friendly and willing to hang out? i made a surf trip to scotland and it was really excellent b/c the locals were
so friendly and you could camp basically anywhere.
thanks -- boneyard

ya most surf spots are fine to camp in,alot of the beaches have camp sites aswell..you'll find other surfers camping at the more popular reefs also so you wont be alone! most surfers are sound and happy to have a chat and whatever. you've picked a good time of year to surf eire, the water is still warm after the summer+more consistant swell...
Enjoy the waves
