hey some of the best spots on the west are
Lahinch in Co Clare (on the right days, sometimes it's as flat as a lake)
Crab island - need a lot of experience here. There are some hazzards like rip tides and rocks. But overall some really nice fast rights.
Spanish point - good intermeddiate waves.
Ballybunion - some nice waves but unfortunately usually crowded
hope this helps. Surfs up in lahinch today some six foot waves so i'm outta here.

have you surfed before? If you have in most surf areas you can rent a board. In lahinch it's about twenty or thirty euros for two hours. For this they'll lend you a foamie.
if you haven't surfed before it's thirty of forty euros for a two hour lesson, with board and wetsuit supplied.

I am in Gallway, but might be leaving to go to other parts of Ireland in search of waves. I'm with a friend right now, but he is leaving on sunday. Then I have Two weeks on my own before I have to go to dublin. I don't have a car here, but I would love to meet up and surf. Let me know eathier way.
