Will be in Clare end of July early Aug. looking for surf...

Visiting cousins in Ireland...Wicklow, Cork, Limerick and Clare. I'm thinking there might be some summer surf so I'm bringing board/wetsuit. Any advice for some spots on the South west coast? I know it goes off in winter and hope to come back when it does. Give me a heads up about any fun spots. Thanks!

Its been a pretty poor summer so far with a few good days here and there. If you're in clare, head to lahinch as a base and from there go north towards doolin and south towards spanish point. If in cork, head towards castlefreake, incheydoney. I would say usually the nw is better but that would be in winter. In summer, the sw is better. conditions have been fickle but you might socre something good, i hope you do. Best of luck
