I'll buy the beer

If you show me the waves. I'm traveling to Ireland August 24th and will be there at least one month. First two weeks with mom and two uncles. My mom is a mad keen surfer and always down for beers. After that I am on my own just trying to see Ireland, meet the people, and most of all score some waves. My fam's roots are in Claire, so I was thinking their and further south. Will a 3X2 and booties be warm enough? Also I am hoping to camp most of the time. Is it relatively easy to find a spot to pitch on the beach? If anyone has any advice or  wants to meet up and hit some waves I'd love it.
