has anyone gone in italy?  I'd love to hear about it in general, about specific spots, time of year, anything.

You gotta wait for swell coming up and than wait for wind coming away. Than conditions can be very good. The best spot all arounf are in Sardinia island, capo mannu. One of the most popular, good but crowed is Banzai. Another good spot is Varazze. In general the best side is the west one, from Lazio to Liguria regions.
Ciao, Riccardo

Surf in lake Como, it´s great during the winter, specialy when the ice is thick and crunchy.
