« on: March 27 2005 15:03:00 »

I'll be traveling to Rome in June for an international conference.  I was wondering where,  if anywhere, there would be surf?  Would there be`shops to purchase/rent a board.
Aloha

Hi, J

June is not the best season for surfing in Italy. You have to hope that a low pressure touch the mediterranean, and it's not very frequent during that month. However, if a low pressure comes, from Rome you can go to banzai, 50 km north. It's not difficult to find it: take the Roma-Civitavecchia highway, exit at S.Severa-S.Marinella and drive for 800 m north on Ss 1 Aurelia (S.Marinella direction), then turn left.
ciao
