New to surfing and new to Kyushu

« on: May 14 2012 05:05:00 »

I'm from California but, for shame, never learned to surf there.  Took a couple lessons in Busan (South Korea) and love it.  Now I'm in Kumamoto prefecture (Japan) and I want to surf.  Where do I go?  I'd need to rent a board and I'd need bunny waves at first.  Just to complicate things I'm a large (90ish kg) white woman with a prominent tattoo, and I'd need to rent a board.  This wasn't a problem in Korea but people here are a bit more uptight about tattoos.

What do I do?  Where do I go that won't break the bank?
