I was wondering if anyone knew of any good surfing spots and any good surf shops around Misawa?

Yeah, there are 3 surf shops in town. Bloom Afloat, Ganjha Surf, and Borders. None are EXTREMELY great surf shops, but this IS a place where you need a 3mm wetsuit on even the hottest days generally (though i do surf in shorts sometimes...)

There is a place on 338 about 15 min from Misawa AB before you hit 45 heading toward Hachinohe. If you take a left at the stoplight with a C-Mart on the corner, go to the end of the street, take another left, and then look to the right. There is a dirt road that takes you to the beach. This particular place has two Jettys about a kilometer apart that virtually eliminate the dreaded "rip-tide" and undertow that you always hear about. Waves here arent that big, however, and the largest Ive seen are only 3-4 ft trough to crest. Great for fun, but not for serious surfers. For that you need to move out of Northern Japan.

Could you provide directions to the shops. I know where Ganjha is but not the other 2, thanks.
