I'm coming to Japan this winter and I want to surf in Okinawa. Does anyone know if there are any surfshops that rent boards. I live on Hilo, HI and surf anything from fish boards to longboards. If any one has some info, please let me know. Mahalo!

Hey, I'm from SoCal and I am going to Japan as a foriegn exchange student sorta thing, i did it last summer. i heard there are some shops, but its said Japan has the most expensive price on surfboards in the world. So I dont know about cheap convienient rentals.

(2)Dude you should get a good travel bag that can carry 2-3 boards. In most boardbags you need to remove the fins, so it wont be as pricy as you think.
If you decide to get a boardbag, and take it to Japan. If you are staying at a hotel, or you have any friends out there. The cheapest way to bring your boards is just to ship it. You could probably use the Hotel address and it could be shipped straight to your room. I'm preety sure you could send it before hand, by calling up the hotel, asking for someone that speaks english,then ask if they can store ur boardz 4 u
