Any recommended surf areas in Mexico around January?

« on: December 10 2013 02:12:00 »

I have the opportunity to get to Central America on January for 2 weeks and I'm looking for areas with some consistent surf (could be around the 4-5ft), warm water and as empty of crowds as possible. Am I way off?Should I try and get to a different country instead?

Any advice or even just a hint would be very much appreciated!

Hey,

I´m going there during that time aswell, although I havent been before so I cant tell you from experience.
But from what I´ve found out there should be some good waves on the west coast. I´ve checked out Sayulita & Punta De Mita which supposedly is in the right wave season.

I´m heading there around 4ht of Jan.
Drop me a line if you end up in those areas. Also keen on crowdless waves (if possible)

Hi,

You should check out Troncones. Troncones Point is a left break. The water is nice and warm and there are 12 breaks within an hour drive.

You can stay cheap at the Troncones Point Hostel.
