Mexico- acupulco-ixtapa area

Looking to go to the area in a July-aug. I'm an "advanced" surfer, girl freind is a beginner-intermediate. Looking for info on surf places in this area, specifically:

1) best area to go given the differances in our abilities. I don;t mind surfing easy waves as long as they are fun. She's fealess, but not great at catching waves. I suppose sandy bottoms are best for her then ;-)

2) Cheap accomodation. As important as the above, I don;t want to spend $30 a night on accomodation. So any recomendations for cheap, but cool accomodation would be appreciated (either places by name, or just general areas that are less "touristy").

Thanks for any suggestions and help

RE: Mexico- acupulco-ixtapa area

hey guy, i guess u havnt done ur research becuz most if not all the decent breaks r rock bottom.   mexico is not that much cheaper than home.. if ur looking for the nice wave go to la saladitas and stay w/ all the longboarders, its a mellow left pt. wave w/ about 300 yard paddle out. Troncones is just S. of there and they have lots of little places to stay, but 4 the $$ ur looking 4 its gonna be w/out A/C.  rent an economy sized car, gas is about the same ther as home....
