Todos Santos - Breaks« on: July 06 2004 11:07:00 »
I frequently surf in Baja and Fish off of Punta Banda quite often. I have been casing the islands recently checking the conditions & have noticed several of the breaks. Could you please confirm the following. On the South West Side of the Island (South of Light House) there seems to be a break there that catches a pretty good S SW swell. I have not noticed the break at the light house working where you say the Massive Break is. The spot I have noticed particullarly for the Southern fetch is The Left break and the Right Break that both peel into the channel between the two islands. Could you please give me more insight into these spots. It seems that every time I am there no one is out. Are there any under water bolders or items I need to be concerned with? Thanks for any insight, Maybe I'll see you out there. Going back end of July to see what is working.

On the Islands there are three Major beaks that I know of, although there are more than three places to surf. The area in front of the light house is the BIG wave spot widely known as "killers". South of killers on the corner of the channel is "Chickens" where it doesn't get quite as big as Killers and then across the channel is the third spot called "Thor's Hammer". I haved surfed both Chickens and Thor's Hammer but never Killers (it was never breaking any of the times I've gone) Chickens has decent rights but Hammers has Great smooth lefts and fast racey rights. Truely great surf spots. I have had more fun surfing Todos Santos than anywhere else, including my surf trips to Hawaii.
