I have been to Cerritos. It has been several years since I was there. The vibe was relaxed. The water was great and so were the waves. When I was there(November) the waves were 3'-5' and very glassy in the a.m.. In the afternoon the wind picks up so it's not so great. Take a lot of water and food. Don't forget the sun block. Have fun.

you said it.. full of hippies and campers. pretty thick wave, rolly on the outside but can get realy big.. was double over when i was there in March. i was riding a 6'9 and i am 6'1 160. the beach is fairly clean. if you climb the headland rock to watch the waves, beware, wear shoes, borken class and sharp rocks everywhere. the inside section dumps pretty hard and if you pump it hard enough and stay in the wash u can connect the sections and get mad tubed. have fun

Los cerritos is great. You have the locals closest to the break, and the farther down you travel down the beach you get the americans and the canadians.
I really liked hanging out with the canadians the most.
I brought down a $80 pawn shop acoustic guitar and traded it for a surfboard from one of the locals. Come to find out he was one of the best surfers on the beach, and he liked the way I skated.

Oh yeah they have a skatepark (amazing one donated by a pro football player from America. Being from Salt Lake I had never surfed, but I definilty could show them a thing or 2 at the park.
It worked out nice.
You know, bring a peace offering to them. Man those people were playing guitar all the time, and the beach was a better place with that guitar. Also when I was out on the waves, they would always let me take good waves and help me out.
Los Ceritos is great. Just don't bring your egos, and remeber that Baja Mexico, isn't the same as the mainland.
