wide open beach break...isolated and a long narrow road from the highway. not the quality of waves here that can be found just north. so instead, head north on the highway, turn off at the town of arroyo seco. there are two beaches accessible just past the town...the one to the south has a couple good breaks on either end. the south break is at a river mouth, which you can cross (not in a vehicle) to get to the beach at el tecuan. absolutely no crowds at these beaches, friendly locals willing to give directions, and about a 40 minute drive from barra navidad/ melaque. i was there in january, good waves. powerful, vicious beachbreaks when the swell is up.
