Is oct too windy for Hualtulco area?

Looking for a good fall surf trip and wondering if its too late in the season to not be blown out in Huatulco area( in OCT) Looking for some good waves with relatively cheap places to stay on the beach?

RE: Is oct too windy for Hualtulco area?

Not enough swell in October.  Its always (80%) windy south of huatulco in summer and %100 in the winter, you have to spend months to get a week of good winds in summer.  Plus you need big swells to make those spots work.  You also need 4 wheel drive and cash because there is no where to stay on the beach so you will have to drive back and forth from town.  You would get better waves at spots that amplify swell.  As well, The locals come out in full force down south when the winds get right so its not like you are avoiding a crowd.  They are pretty rude to newcomers because of increasing crowds.  The waves are honestly a bit inferior to other spots in Mexico.  Five years ago it would have been worth it but its hard travel and crowded now.  Que lo vaya bien
