House for rent in front of a consistent break?

« on: July 18 2008 19:07:00 »

Does anyone know of a house for rent or vacation rental in Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean that is right in front of a reasonably consistent break?  The surf doesn't need to be that good, but I'd love the house to be right there so I could get in and out all day.

I'm sure there are plenty of houses like this available but they're hard to find on the internet.

Hey mate

theres only so much planning you can do from your office on the net...once you decide where you want to be, surf and live...get out there, find a nice cheap hotel for a few days while you ask around for a place or room to rent...there will almost always be a few options for longer term and cheaper in the area.  There is no substitute for human to human contact on the road.  goodluck.

Misha is right though. Find your wave and long term housing will be there. Check out spots like La Saladita, Rio Nexpa, Troncones, and La Ticla are the ones Im familiar with. I heard La Saladita has housing options you're looking for, but dont expect it to be cheap. You can camp and sleep in your hammock in Ticla for like ..... 60 bucks or so the whole month with Amalia. Goodluck, Ill be down the month of October or so.

I am aware of two rental properties right at the break at Punta del Burro.  One is Casa Selvatica and the other is Casa Rincon.  Each property actually has a handful of rental options.  Casa Selvatica is best if you are going surfing with the guys, Casa Rincon is better if you are traveling with a family with kids (it has a pool).  Both properties have some surfboards available for use... mostly long boards.  You can find them on VRBO.com under Punta del Burro.  There is also an all inclusive resort on this beach called Palladium.  Be aware.. this break has become immensely popular and is often overrun with locals and tourists.

Hi,

I think I know what you are looking for man. Check this site:
surfinmazatlan.com they have what you need. Their house is located north of what people called the Golden Zone, you'll be in and out of the water anytime, they have several uncrowded spots in front of the beach. Also thet have many things to show you, but I am going let you to check it on line. Ask for their special family or group price.

Have fun!

Take a look at casapacifico.com.mx
Eight kilometers south of Punta Mita-- north shore of the Bay of Banderas, puerto Vallarta. The burros break is about a five minute walk down the beach.

Yes, I think I know the house you're talking about. It's called Selvatica. You can see their Wavecation listing (http://wavecation.com/casa-selvatica). You can definitely relax at the house all day and just paddle out when it gets good. That's the beauty of staying on the surf break for sure!
