just wondering if short boarding or long boarding is most common in the area?

and once i get down there, where the best breaks are and who would be the best people to ask ?

when you went, do you have that information, i am heading down in a few weeks and would nt mind jumping in as well.  Breaks, reantals?

Depending on the swell you have longboard and shprtboard waves...The best uncrowded surf is in the North Shore of the Bay between Destiladeras Beach and Punta de Mita. Let me know when you get here and Feel free to ask any questions. I'll be happy to point you in the right direction :))

check out sayulita, its an awesome town a bit north of vallarta, the surf is real decent and mellow and has both longboardable and shortboardable waves depending on the size. i would skip vallarta in general and just stay in sayulita.
