surfing in/around the Mayan Riviera?

Does anyone happen to know of any surfable spots within the general vicinity of the Mayan Riviera?  I'm going there in a week till the end of August

RE: surfing in/around the Mayan Riviera?

Hello,  I was wondering the same thing about surfing in the Yucatan. I hope you had a nice trip and if you have any information on the surf in that area I'd love to hear it. We are going in Oct.
thanks dsunrise

RE: surfing in/around the Mayan Riviera?

Sorry guys, the Yucatan channel has no swell activity for surfing. Only storm events. Surfing in southeastern mexico ends at Chiapas... Yucatan is a very wide bedrock peninsula in which waves shoal miles away and thus no wave energy on the sandy beaches.
