Just got back from there 3 weeks ago. The place is awesome when there is a swell. We got there and it was flat. So we headed south 9 hrs to Laticla and caught it perfect and then got back to mita and caught the same swell further north. There is a lady named Jennifer in a green building that looks kinda like an avocado. Its is the only building that looks like that. It is about 2 blocks from the beach and about 30 min walk to la lancha. real good break. If you get to the surfshop in mita and bo south as close to the beach as possible you will eventualy reach the green 3 story building.

Very nice accomodations and price is really negotiable. We paid like 30 bucks a night for a nice 1 bedroom apt with kitchen and a/c nice bathroom, nice view. Tell Jen that the guys from FL sent you there, maybe she'll remember walter, walter and David. The place is reall cool and the locals are very nice. Just respect them and you will be fine. If you move south to La ticla make sure you speak some spanish because the state of michoacan is a little violent, but well worth it for the waves.

Did you rent a board there? About what did you pay for rental if you did?

I rented a board for about 10 us a day on my last 2 days. Snapped my board in half at la ticla

Do you by chance know of the restaurant el coral also has rooms to rent?
I was there last year after x-mas taking pongas off that beach to surf.
Thinking about taking a trip this year from the 21st of december thru mid-January.
Having a hard time finding any low $$ places to stay in punta de mita, all that comes up online is the 4 seasons.
I remember a few local places had for rent signs in the window.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
