I'm also wondering this. Everything I read online says it is flat, but if you look here: http://magicseaweed.com/Cancun-Surf-Report/790/ the report says they have been getting 3-10ft waves everyday for the past weeks (I've been checking)....

Check Playa Delfines.......Dolphin Beach.....it is the public beach, usually it is better in the afternoons around 6 p.m. during the Summer it gets a wind swell nothing spectacular but you can get a decent 2 to 4 faces in a good day and 1 to 3 in a normal day. Around two Summer ago it got big during the summer it was around 7 to 8 foot braking right on shore it was a tropical storm that was pumping I paddle out but I am to old for get wipe out near to shore. Watch for a big rocks right on shore. Usually on the right side of the lifeguard tower there are less rocks. Also I surfed towards punta Nizuc at the Hotetur hotel it was decent las Summer and Also gets something during the Winter. I will be there from the 14 to the 22nd of December
